About
Julie Nachtwey, LMP
I have a private practice in Seattle's Greenwood/Phinney neighborhood and have been practicing since 2006. My goal is to get you moving freely and without pain or restriction. I am skilled in working with all types of injury and discomfort due to accidents, poor pasture or too much sitting in front of the computer for work. Whether you need a very gentle touch or deep tissue, I have developed a range of techniques so as to "listen" to what your body needs to release the tension or holding and restore it to good health.

Testimonials
“I highly recommend Julie to anyone who loves a very deep tissue massage. Or to anyone who needs help recovering from an injury. I like to call her a miracle worker, or my secret weapon in my long-term recovery from a leg/foot injury. She picks up where physical therapy leaves off, targeting the injured area to help reduce scar tissue and increase mobility. She is a talented, caring massage therapist and very good at explaining anatomy, the techniques she uses, and the reasons why. I wouldn’t be this far along in my recover without her. Many thanks to Julie!”

Julie has been my massage therapist for several years now, first helping me with back pain and also recently providing treatment for tendonitis in my hands. The deep tissue work on my hands and arms has made a huge difference in my recovery, and is also extremely relaxing as a bonus! Julie is highly skilled and very responsive – adjusting her treatment techniques to whatever I need at the moment. I feel very fortunate to have Julie’s support in maintaining my well being and quality of life!

Thank you so much for the visceral work today – it was a revelation! While I was a little skeptical to try something new, since I love your regular massage so much, I am so glad we went with it. The subtle work itself felt incredibly relaxing, but the sense of unwinding that I am feeling in my body is fabulous! I feel so much more ease in my hips and lower back, and walking feels much more fluid. I can’t wait to continue working with you using this approach. Like a lot of things, feeling is believing!!
Thank you again!

After a major injury and surgery, followed by 6 months of intensive physical therapy, I was referred to Julie Nachtwey. It was the answer to my prayers! Julie is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in therapeutic massage. She was able to diagnose and address the issues that were preventing my complete recovery. She is very attentive and responsive to her patients’ needs. I noticed improvement from the very first visit, and continued to make steady progress under her care. I am now pain-free and stronger than I was before my accident! Don’t give up when the doctors and PT’s say you’re done—make an appointment with Julie!

I started working with Julie to improve relaxation and body awareness, as a supplement to regular aerobic training and martial arts practice. I had never done any serious massage therapy before. She has been very helpful in making me aware of the tension and muscular “armor” I have built around my body and its various injuries over three decades of “hard” training. I look forward to continuing this type of “soft” work, as I believe it will be an important component of aging gracefully. I strongly recommend Julie for her ability to work with the individual needs of each patient, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and her personable, professional approach to this important treatment method.

I have been working with Julie since Fall of 2011. I had a broken collarbone, and then frozen shoulder caused by being in a sling. My physical therapist referred me to her. Her treatments have enabled me to get back my full range of motion even though the bone has never healed. Her knowledge of anatomy and physiology is extensive, and combined with her strong hands and body, she is an amazing healer. This is not your SPA massage, this is therapeutic massage at its best!
